For the PSL

The PSL is entering its next stage of growth with new investment, additional resources, and an ambitious vision for what comes next. The people behind that effort bring proven experience and plenty of know-how on both the business and softball sides of the game.
Here’s what it takes to turn vision into reality.
This is about more than investing in a league. It’s about creating a great place for players to play, fans to engage, and communities to come together around the game.
A major focus will also be creating a strong experience for the players, fans, and team owners who make the league work.
Six teams. One league.
One championship.
In 2027, six PSL member teams will compete as one professional league. They’ll face each other throughout a 40-game season, all with one goal: the PSL championship.

What makes the PSL different?
Local teams.

PSL teams are independently owned and rooted in the communities they serve, supported by the structure and resources of a national professional league.
Local team owners have a stake in building teams that last and become part of the fabric of their communities.
Community is central to the PSL. The goal is to build teams that matter in their markets, create opportunities around the game, give fans and young athletes access to local heroes, and strengthen the connection between professional softball and the people and places that support it.
What we heard
from players…
When players were asked what makes the PSL experience different, several themes emerged.
01Community engagement you won’t find anywhere else.
PSL teams sit at the top of a youth-to-pro ecosystem connecting youth programs, camps, schools, colleges, and families. Players are central to it as mentors, role models, and community leaders, and for many of them it becomes their favorite part of the game.
02Fans who know you, not just your stat line.
PSL gives fans the chance to know and love players outside the white lines, not just between them. That gives fans a reason to want to show up every day, and players feel that support. Through camps, clinics, appearances, and sponsorships, players also build their own brands and earn beyond their team compensation.
03Local ownership and lasting community connections.
PSL teams are supported by ownership groups committed to their communities and to building lasting professional programs. As members of one league, teams share in growing the game while creating strong local connections. Players get to help build their teams, put down roots in their communities, and inspire the next generation.
